The Royal St. George Y.C. hosted their Second Annual Craftinsure Spring Open Championships over the weekend of the 17th and 18th of March. With light breezes and sunny weather it was the perfect start to the season for many.

Over 100 boats attended, including some from as far afield as Baltimore and Strangford Lough. They were also lucky enough to have the pleasure of dolpins in attendance in the bay on both days.

Two courses were run in the bay, whilst there was also a harbour course for the more junior of the Optimist sailors.

The main Optimist fleet was won by Richard Hogan from Howth, ahead of  Daniel Raymond from NYC and Harry Craig from RSGYC.

In the Laser 4.7 it was Conor O'Beirne from the Geroge who won out followed by  Helen Cooney from the NYC and Stephen Craig from the RSGYC.

Conor Totterdell  won the RS Feva class ahead of David Johnston from Howth, whilst in the Radial class it was an all George affair with James Eggers followed by Frank Devlin and Sarah Hyland.

The 420 class was won byCara McDowell from Malahide followed by Kate Lyttle of the RSGYC.
