With less than three months until the 2012 Dragon Gold Cup in Kinsale, Co Cork, Ireland, there has been a huge calibre of interest and steady number of entries from all over the world. 

This year, the Brewin Dolphin Dragon Gold Cup takes place in Kinsale Yacht Club from 8th-14th September. Already several world champions and ex-olympians have entered from 15 countries with over 70 boats expected to compete in the open waters off the Old Head of Kinsale.

The race management team will be headed up by Alan Crosbie and the International Jury and measuring officer have been appointed.

The Irish Dragon South Coast Championships are taking place at Kinsale Yacht Club on 1st and 2nd September, to serve as a ‘warm up’ event for the Gold Cup. 

There is a full racing and social programme for both events, as well as special discounts on ferries from the UK and France to Dun Laoghaire, Rosslare and Cork. The Brittany Ferries discount from Roscoff to Cork has been extended until end June 2012 so booking advisable over the next two weeks.

Dragon sailors from over 10 countries have already entered this year’s Brewin Dolphin Dragon Gold Cup, to be held at Kinsale Yacht Club, Co. Cork Ireland from 8th-14th September 2012. 

Entries from Russia, Ukraine, Germany, Scandinavia, Portugal, France and the UK have signed up with additional entries expected from Hungary, Estonia, and as far afield as the USA and Australia, making this a truly international competition.

Participants are encouraged to register early and to book their and accommodation in this busy seaside town on the south coast of Ireland.
