The ISA are working continuously to promote the safe, responsible and enjoyable use of Personal Watercrafts (aka Jet Ski’s) and supporting this initiative are two members of the South Meath PWC Club.
Sean Stagg and Eugene O’Shea were both in the process of becoming certified ISA PWC Instructors when they delivered their first ISA National PWC Course at Hodson Bay last weekend under the supervision of ISA Instructor Trainer Amy Veasey of Broadhaven Marine Training.
Sean and Eugene each ran a full course of 6 participants on 3 skis totalling 12 participants who were all members of the South Meath PWC Club. The sessions ran concurrently on the water and they shared the classroom sessions. Their Trainer, Amy, remarked “Sean and Eugene were by far the most prepared candidates I have seen for an instructor moderation and their dedication to the sport really shone through. The 12 experienced lads from the club were also really enthusiastic in spite of the mirror like conditions and 5 knot speed limit enforced for most of the day”.
The feedback from the participants was very positive regarding the instruction but also around the course content and structure. Amy was delighted to then officially certify both Sean and Eugene as ISA PWC Instructors following their successful weekend.
Thanks also to Richie O’Hara of Baysports for providing use of his facilities and equipment.
