Boat owners can revalidate their ECHO ratings and IRC rating certificates (from 2011 and 2010) for the 2012 season from December 21st. Revalidations can be done online through the MY ISA section of the ISA website. The new certificates will be issued from early January  2012.

Ordering a rating certificate, for ECHO or IRC, online is both quicker and cheaper. A typical boat will save about 9-10% by ordering online through our secure shop.

All annual revalidation documents for 2011 and 2010 boats will be sent by post and IRC owners will receive their 2012 IRC Yearbook in early January.

Questions on the form:

If there were no changes made since the last certificate was issued, just state ‘No Changes’ in the ‘Special Instructions’ box, on the second ‘Checkout’ page after you click on ‘Order’.

SAILS: Please read the whole note below.

Nb. If you have an Endorsed certificate we are likely to have actual data.

MAINSAIL widths: Rule 21.5.3 is amended to remove the mainsail widths minima in the interests of greater equity for boats with in-mast furling mainsails. If actual sail data has previously been supplied to us, then it will be in our database and you need do nothing. If not, and your boat has in-mast mainsail furling, we recommend that you check and supply the mainsail widths MUW, MTW and MHW.

HEADSAIL widths: Rules 21.7.1 and 21.7.3 are amended to remove the headsail widths minima in the interests of greater equity for boats with overlapping headsails or a roller furling headsail.

If actual sail data has previously been supplied to us, then it will be in our database and you need do nothing. If not, and you have an overlapping and/or furling headsail with a hollow leech, we recommend that you check and supply the headsail widths HHW and HTW.

Amended and Trial certificates can be issued when a boat has a current valid certificate. Boat’s which require a ‘Short Handed’ rating must first hold a current valid IRC certificate.

If you want to see another boat’s last IRC certificate you can order a copy at any time.

The ISA office will be closed on December 23 and reopen on January 3rd.
